Setting Goals to Help you Thrive in 2022

This has been quite a year. A year that followed an incredibly taxing and stressful year. But we have made it. We have made it to another year, and are ready to conquer the next one. But not just survive it, THRIVE in it.

As I think about what it means to Thrive in 2022, I have spent time thinking about goals that I have, things that I want to accomplish, for myself and for Restoring Hope.

Now, I know this is the time for resolutions, but I am not a big fan of resolutions. Because how often are we making a resolution and then 3 weeks in to the new year, we have already stopped going to the gym and we haven’t eaten healthy at all.

The resolution doesn’t stick, but setting a goal does. I think it is important to frame goals by asking yourself some questions.

“What do you want to accomplish by the end of the year?”

“Where do you want to be?”

“What do you want to be doing?”

“What does thriving look like to you?”

I think in order to set goals for what you want to accomplish in the new year, it is important to reflect on the current year and past goals you have set. It’s important to look at what worked, what didn’t work, and how you can work to improve yourself, your family, your career and your life.

As I reflect on 2021, I am grateful. So very grateful for so much. Another year of life. Another year with family, with friends. Another year of growing as a person, in my mindset, as a business and business owner. Another year of helping people.

As I reflected, I thought about what our mission is at Restoring Hope Counseling and how it is to Restore Hope in Lives and Relationships by providing excellent therapeutic services to people who are hurting and struggling. We do this through individual therapy, groups, and being a training program for new therapists to learn and grow. Our vision is that we are a place for therapists to grow into great therapists, so that more people can get the help they need and Restore Hope in their life.

When thinking about our mission and vision, I got curious, have we done that, have we helped Restore Hope in Lives and Relationships?

We started 2021 with 2 fully licensed therapists. We are ending the year with 2 fully licensed therapists (LPC), 3 provisionally licensed therapists (LPC-A), and 7 graduate student interns. Through the work of our amazing team, we have helped over 354 different clients, conducting more than 2,763 hours of therapy, with 215 of those hours being intake sessions with new clients. Our Graduate Student Interns led a teen girls group this summer and completed 392 individual therapy sessions, the LPC-A’s have completed 86 sessions, and our fully licensed therapists have completed 2,198 sessions.

I think the answer to the question is, yes.

Yes I believe that we have worked toward our mission and vision. But we aren’t done yet. We still have more to do, we still have more people to help.

As the owner I am grateful for the 354 clients who have trusted in Restoring Hope Counseling to help them Restore Hope in their Lives.

So thank you. Thank you for trusting in us at Restoring Hope Counseling to help you grow and heal and be the person you are meant to be.

I can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store.

So what are your goals for 2022? What do you want to accomplish?

Some goals I have for 2022 are to be more intentional with my time with my husband and family, to continue to grow at Restoring Hope, to be able to open a second location by the end of the year, to continue to pay off debt, and to learn something new, like maybe take a cooking or a dance class (because I have no rhythm and I need some serious help in that department.)

Spend some time dreaming, and identify what you want to accomplish by the end of 2022. How do you want to THRIVE?

Have a Beautiful and Blessed New Year!
